Bejawada Movie Review
Banner : Shreya Productions
Cast : Naga Chaitanya, Amala Paul
Music Director : Amar Mohile, Bapi Tutul
Cinematography : SKS Bhupathi
Producer : Ram Gopal Varma
Director : Vivek Krishna

Synopsis:

Bejawada is the story of Siva Krishna (Naga Chaitanya) who avenges his brother's death. Krishna fame Jatka acted as his brother Vijaya Krishna who gets killed by the son (Shankar, Rakta Charitra fame Bukka Reddy) of his leader, Kaali (Prabhu). It is more of a revenge story and it could be set anywhere in Andhra Pradesh only that this film is set in Vijayawada to get that extra hype due to the local politics and rivalry between two castes that’s been in the city from ages. Few characters and scenes are made to resemble that ‘real’ people.

Performances:

Naga Chaitanya performance is weak in his tryst for mass image. His dialogue delivery and expressions in the intense scenes are mediocre. Amala Paul has nothing to offer except to shake legs for the songs. Bukka Reddy impressed in the role which is similar to that of Rakta Charitra. Kota Srinivas Rao and Prabhu performed well in their little roles.

Brahmanandham and MS Narayana comedy is bad.

Technical Departments:

Vivek Krishna's debut as a director will not earn him any accolades. His story is just like any revenge plot. Dialogues are okay and screenplay is mediocre. He even failed to extract good performances from the star cast. The censor cuts had also took toll on the movie as the flow of the movie is disturbed at several places.

Cinematography by SKS bhupathi is good with RGV kinda shot making. Back Ground music by Amar Mohile, Bapi Tutul is great.

Final Say:

It’s just a regular revenge flick made with heavy dose of gore and violence. Naga Chaitanya is just absent in the first half; in the second half he takes the charge but fails to create any sort of impact. Once the initial curiosity subsidizes the film will fizzle out.
