RajaPattai Movie Review
Vikram had strained himself a lot over the years picking up exceptional films with the aim of scoring awards. Well, ‘Kandhasamy’ wasn’t a major hit while Manirathnam’s ‘Raavanan’ and Vijay’s ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ have and are going to win him awards. But his ardent buffs naturally wanted to see their star in roles he essayed in ‘Dhool’ and ‘Saamy’.

If at all, you were one amongst those buffs hankering to see your Chiyaan Vikram back in form as a mass hero in commercial movie, here comes ‘Rajapattai’ that will serve to your tastes. And this one is not just for his fans, but for the family audiences as it will easily win the hearts of 8-80s age groups.

Anal Murugan (Vikram) is an aspiring villain, who works as a gym boy in the film. He comes across an old man (director Viswanath), whose situation is at stake for his son forces him to sign on documents to handover the land property that accommodates orphan children so as to hand it over to a leading politician AKKA. What unfolds next is a combat between Murugan and the politician and her network of baddies, who are part of Land Grabbing Mafia.

To start off with, it’s Susintheeran who surprises with a new lease of film as his previous movies were patently based on offbeat themes. He has chosen a serious issue as the main theme, but has added more commercial elements. It has fun, romance, sentiments, action and more than all, Chiyaan Vikram’s grand show as he appears in different get up in just one film. You’ll be awestricken by his physique, especially during the action sequences.

Three scenes in the film are really worthy of appreciations.
1. The Register Office Drama

2. Kidnap Drama in Market

3. Interrogation set-up with Vikram appearing in different get-ups.

The first half has some light moments and the narration gains a greater momentum during second half. In fact all these three sequences that are special highlights happen during second half. Deeksha Seth has nothing greater to perform while director K. Viswanath comes up with an impressive performance. He plays a main role during first half. Pradeep Rawat of ‘Ghajini’ fame does his role perfectly.

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background score is awesome while songs are nowhere close to the film. Cinematography by Mathi is top-notching.

‘Rajapattai’ is a commercial treat for audiences of all centres. It’s sure to strike gold in A,B and C centres.

Verdict: Go watch it
