Recently it was announced by the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) that big films can release only at five special occasions.
Ajith’s Billa 2, Karthi’s Saguni and Dhanush’s 3 that are to see the day light before April were pushed to later dates.
Earlier it was Feb 3 that the 3 movie is scheduled to release but now things have changed adds sources. So most probably the Dhanush's 3 will be released on Tamil New year's eve that is on April 13.
Ajith’s Billa 2 which was slated its release in April was postponed to May Day, on the occasion of Thala birthday. Karthi's 'Saguni' will see an April release during the Tamil New Years day.
It was before announced by TFPC that big films should release only on Pongal, Tamil New Year, May Day, Independence Day and Diwali.
The Tamil Films Producers Council will decide whether the movie is big or small and then the final release date would be insisted. All this is to encourage small films, so that they see a good run on screens.
