New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS) Leading sociologists from across the globe will participate in a four-day conference starting Sunday in the capital to discuss crisis and challenges of social transformation, a statement said.

The 37th All India Sociological Conference is organised by the Indian Sociological Society to mark the beginning of the diamond jubilee celebrations which will be inaugurated by Vice President M. Hamid Ansari.

The conference will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru University Dec 10-13.

"It is the first ever such congregation of large number of sociologists. We are expecting over 2,000 teachers of sociology form across the globe. Participants from the US, Germany, Sweden, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bhutan and Bangladesh will discuss challenges of social transformation," said Anand Kumar, organising secretary of the conference.
